Hello Everyone,
Jesus...Does Philip Rivers really deserve all that cash??? Not in my book....
Anyway, After a piss poor day and a terrible break in the Ravens last night, I updated the record to reflect my first 13 picks of the NFL preseason along with my baseball picks since the last update.
The Tuesday baseball board is an absolute joke. You can tell the season is winding down and football is underway when you see baseball lines like this. Who do they think they are kidding? There is only two games that are under -135 and only 4 that are under -150. Since when are the Philadelphia Phillies a consistent -185 or more on the road. Are the Red Sox really -300 vs Garcia tonight? Minnesota has a first time starter called up from triple-A and they are -170 favorite. Oh look Lackey is -170 vs. Washburn (who has pretty much the same record and era) and the Tigers (who are a playoff team if I am not mistaken) tonight. Were the oddsmakers high on crack rock when they posted these numbers or is the public that much of a bunch of chalk munchers? Even in the first season in a while where home-dogs aren't cashing-in at their usual rate, you have to be on meth to lay this kind of chalk tonight on any of these games, except maybe the Yankees (who seem like they can't lose).
Anyway, I just took the board and scratched off all ridiculous favorites. I browsed, then went over the some pitching matchups, weather/umpire/team reports, and looked for three dogs (to play small for Tuesday night) that I think have some value. And, guess what? I am going against 3 of the 4 insane lines I just spoke of.
Here is what came up with for tonight...
Visionary Tuesday Free Baseball Picks:
Pick: Detroit Tigers +150 (MLB)
Value: 3 Unit Play
Pick: Pittsburgh Pirates +165 (MLB)
Value: 2 Unit Play
Pick: Chicago White Sox +280 (MLB)
Value: 1 Unit Play
(Visionary's daily free sports picks are rated on a 1 to 5 unit scale)
Good luck with these three. Play them small. Just 1 of 3 may make you some money (or at worst, show a very small loss). Two of three means a nice profit for three small MLB moves that have value.
Your Friend & Free Free Sports Handicapper,
I know I keep posting this link with the list of free football contests, but those guys sponsor this blog and I think it's one of the more useful posts with all the crap on the blogs lately. Seems like everyone is having a contest on who can make the most twitter posts and get the most twitter followers. I see more links to dumb ass videos and other garbage sites then ever before. Thanks a lot Twitter for "Ocho Cinco-ing" the web. Anyway, here's are two more college and NFL football blogs that I found to be a decent read;
